How to Use the Home WiFi Coverage Simulator
This tool helps you visualize your home or flat WiFi coverage by simulating router placement and the impact of walls.
Follow these steps:
- Upload Your Floor Plan: Click the "Upload Image" button and select your home/flat map.
- Adjust the View: Use the zoom controls below the map to resize the image for a comfortable view.
-
Annotate Your Layout:
- Click "Toggle Wall Drawing" to add walls (or doors/windows). Choose the element type and thickness from the dropdowns, then click once to mark the start (a temporary dot will appear) and click again to complete the element.
- Click "Toggle Router Placement" to add a router. To remove a router, simply click near it; a long press on a router will toggle its coverage on/off.
- Simulate Coverage: Click the "Simulate Coverage" button to generate a WiFi heatmap based on your annotations. (Note: This is an approximate simulation.)
- Download Your Map: If you're satisfied with the result, use the download button to save your coverage map.
Note: This simulator uses a simplified model and provides an approximate view of your WiFi coverage. Actual coverage may vary due to numerous factors such as building materials, interference, antenna orientation, and other environmental conditions.
